Suffering is the means by which we know Christ.
If it is said, “I shall know him, even as I have been fully known” then we shall know him by his cross or not at all. The cross was for Christ but there is a place on Golgotha for you and I.
A place where the old man is put to death. Where the mind of man is crucified that the life giving Spirit of the new Man might be made manifest in power. And all of this by grace through faith in the finished work of Him who went before us and went before us in love.
So love is the yield of suffering.
Mystery of mysteries; the deepest love is found only in the deepest suffering.
